Gold as Profitable Investment

In the previous section, we have discussed several kinds of investments as well as the advantages and the disadvantages. Now we will discuss on gold investment. Investing money on real gold is different from gold stocks. While gold stocks is a kind of gold ownership in written form, gold investment itself is a kind of gold ownership in real gold such as coins or bullion.

Investing gold in the form of gold coins or bullion is much more profitable than its investment on gold jewelry form. Gold jewelry considers the manufacture’s cost which effect on the higher price, while gold coins or bullion don’t. As a result, the return on jewelry investment price may have fewer than the coins or bullion one.

Another advantage when choosing gold investment is timing. Unlike stocks or real estate investment which considering time as the important instrument, investing fund on gold doesn’t consider the perfect timing. It can be done anytime so that people who need to own gold can make the actual purchase without timing consideration. Because of its beneficial, choosing gold investment would be the perfect investment to prevent people’s compromised wealth while financial crisis generated like previously happened during the year of 2008.

Most appropriate investment

Investment is putting some money for something with expectation of gaining benefit or having added value on it. Unlike gambling or speculation which doesn’t have proper analysis, investment must need well analyzed in the investment security such as the amount of return on capital, so that the money won’t get entirely lost.

The investment itself is divided into several kinds of investment and they are short-term investments, medium investment and long-term investment. Insurance, deposit money, saving money or stock are types of short-term and medium investment while real estate, housing, or field and land investment are kind of long-term investment. Any type of investment will be chosen, several considerations must be well analyzed on the amount of money and the capital risk.

Insurance, savings and deposits are kinds of short-term investment and medium investment which have small risk with relatively small capital, while stock is a kind of short-term investment which has bigger risk with relatively larger capital as well. Real estate, housing or field and land investment are kind of long-term investment which have small risk with larger capital. Probably the flexible investment which has small risk and adjustable capital is gold investment, for those who have smaller fund can choose gold coin while gold bullion can be chosen for the bigger one.

Goldman Sachs, Gold Investment

The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. is an American bulge bracket investment banking and securities firm that engages in global investment banking, securities, investment management, and other financial services primarily with institutional clients. Goldman Sachs was founded in 1869 and is headquartered at 200 West Street in the Lower Manhattan area of New York City, with additional offices in major international financial centers. The firm provides mergers and acquisitions advice, underwriting services, asset management, and prime brokerage to its clients, which include corporations, governments and individuals. The firm also engages in proprietary trading and private equity deals, and is a primary dealer in the United States Treasury security market.

Corporate affairs
As of 2009, Goldman Sachs employed 31,701 people worldwide. In 2006, the firm reported earnings of US$9.34 billion and record earnings per share of $19.69. It was reported that the average total compensation per employee in 2006 was US$622,000. However, this number represents the arithmetic mean of total compensation and is highly skewed upwards as several hundred of the top recipients command the majority of the Bonus Pools, leaving the median that most employees receive well below this number. In Business Week's recent release of the Best Places to Launch a Career 2008, Goldman Sachs was ranked No.4 out of 119 total companies on the list. The current Chief Executive Officer is Lloyd C. Blank Fein. The company ranks No.1 in Annual Net Income when compared with 86 peers in the Investment Services sector. Blank Fein received a $67.9 million bonus in his first year. He chose to receive "some" cash unlike his predecessor, Paulson, who chose to take his bonus entirely in company stock.
Goldman Sachs is divided into three businesses units: Investment Banking, Trading and Principal Investments, and Asset Management and Securities Services.
